This is a B & W infrared conversion shot taken about 3 km away from where I live. I love the beach and no doubt it will feature greatly.
One has to start somewhere. The beginning usually. As our journey progresses if we pay enough attention, things may improve in various areas of our lives. I would love this to be true of my life. Spiritually I would love to see an improvement but practically, most especially with Photography. I have studied it formally to achieve a Diploma in Digital Photography, but quite honestly when I first started to pay attention to what photography was about I really thought that it really was. a very easy craft with little skill needed. I remember draining the library dry of every book that was photography related, learning about aperture and how it related to DOF and the available light. Then adding the shutter speed variations into the mix. Oh and then also the ISO adjustments and the effects that has. At that stage I did not own a DSLR so I learned to use the "point and shoot" as creatively as possible. I set myself on this learning curve, simply because I was interested. I studied also because I wanted to know more. Not because I wanted to be a photographer and earn a living this way, just because I wanted to and I could. I was wrong in my initial thinking, and I am glad I was.

AuthorI am a visual person. I find that surrounding myself in creation, feasting my eyes on what is before me and daydreaming a little is great refreshment for my soul. I also read avidly about trends, techniques and technicalities associated with visual art. When I can, I love assigning large chunks of time responding to what I see and crafting my own art. Here is a place to put that down. Archives
