Have you ever noticed how the birds always face into the wind? Even my pet Cockatiel, when having his feathers blow-dried after a bath in winter, will turn himself around according to the direction of the blast. While I was watching these White Fronted Terns on my local beach today I was struck by this fact. If there is a storm coming, they face into it. Often there is no shelter for the beasts of the field and the birds of the air, but they fearlessly face the oncoming onslaught. We could learn much from observing them.
